A Years Reflection 2013

Its crazy as I've been looking back over the year and how many different times my life has changed .... I mean don't get me wrong 2012 was wonderful too... my two sons graduated college the announcements of grand babies (2) to come, the engagement of my oldest daughter, marriage of my youngest son  and every holiday shared with family.

But 2013.... 2013 we went into with a new house for the family;  leaving the old house for A Place Along the Way... (but that was short lived because of a electrical fires and the landlord not wanting to fix it) so we are using the family house for some services um mostly day shelter while we look for a new location for overnight.
this is A Place Along the Way's 10th year in business... I'm looking forward to some changes for the following years.

But as far as my family is concerned ... my Heavenly Father showed up and showed out .... There were many happy, sad,  worried, un-sure, excited, praiseworthy and prayerful moments.
But with each oooo, awwww and hip hip hooray ... He showed out more and more!

My faith in my Heavenly Father and my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ has grown immensely this year.

I have a testimony that my Heavenly Father blesses me as I do His will through the example of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

and I am grateful for the
atonement of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ without that atonement I would have no way back home to my Heavenly Father because no matter how hard I try I could never be worthy enough.

Eating Healthy

As I get older I often think of things I have learned, the lectures I have attended and the experiments I have done. The other day my daughter-in-law has made the announcement that she is "Off Sweets" until 5/18/14.... that had me thinking.... with two pregos in the house and four children; we need to get a little healthier.... Why not "No Added Sugar" .... To find "hidden" added sugars, check the ingredient label on processed foods. Here are some names of added sugars on food labels include: soda anhydrous dextrose brown sugar confectioner's powdered sugar corn syrup corn syrup solids dextrose fructose high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS) honey invert sugar lactose malt syrup maltose maple syrup molasses nectars (e.g., peach nectar, pear nectar) pancake syrup raw sugar sucrose sugar white granulated sugar You may also see other names used for added sugars, these include: Cane juice, evaporated corn sweetener, fruit juice concentrate, crystal dextrose, glucose, liquid fructose, sugar cane juice, and fruit nectar. Let's see do I think I can go without ....... regular soft drinks, energy drinks, and sports drinks candy cakes cookies pies and cobblers sweet rolls, pastries, and donuts fruit-aides and fruit punch dairy desserts, such as ice cream Not to mention the "hidden" sugars ....
